Sunday – Rest Day. Say whaaaat?

Some of you may ask yourselves “who needs a rest day”? The answer should be everyone. Rest days are just as important as the workouts that you do. Rest is a very important part of the muscle building process. Without proper recovery, your muscles will stop responding to the exercises that we do, therefore, working out every day starts to become counterproductive.  Also, it is important for you to be able to recognize the signs of overtraining. Some signs include, but are not limited to: excessive fatigue, poor performance, lack of sleep, bloating, hard time recovering from a big workout, and bones, joints and limbs hurting. I know it seems like the more you do, the better your results will be. Unfortunately without proper rest, you can’t ever perform at your full potential. If you are seeing any of the signs of overtraining, maybe it’s time for a rest day or even a rest week. Many top athletes will take an entire week to deload or rest. Check back later this week to see how you can get enough rest but still achieve the results that you’re looking for.
